American Book Co. Educational ("ABC Educational," "we," "us," or "our") provides an online catalog and quoting portal used primarily by schools, school districts, and education professionals in New York and the surrounding region. This policy describes what information we collect when you use our site, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information you provide when you sign up or request a quote: name, email address, phone number, job title, school or district, and shipping address.
- Quote and cart contents — the titles, quantities, purchase order numbers, and notes you submit when requesting pricing.
- Communications — messages you send through the contact form, sales request form, or replies to our emails.
- Technical data — basic log information (IP address, browser type, pages visited) used to operate and secure the site.
How we use information
We use your information to deliver pricing quotes, fulfill orders, communicate about your requests, improve the site, and meet legal and accounting obligations. We do not sell your information.
Email communications
We send transactional emails related to your account and quote requests (confirmations, status updates, quote PDFs, replies from our sales team). You may unsubscribe from non-essential communications at any time using the link in those emails, or by contacting us.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the site (hosting, email delivery, database services), and where required by law. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use your information to perform services for us.
Data security
Customer data is stored in a managed database with row-level access controls so that customers can only see their own records. Service credentials are stored in a managed secrets vault and are never exposed in the browser. All traffic to our domains is served over HTTPS.
Children's privacy
Our portal is intended for use by school staff and education professionals, not by students or children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.
Your choices
You may request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or request deletion of your account by contacting us at the address below. Some records (such as completed orders) may be retained as required for accounting and tax purposes.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the site or communicated by email where appropriate.
